Task 1: Individual Report

UX Design Brief:
Task
Exercise 1
After the module brief on Week 1, we had a lecture on the foundations of UX design, which included topics of affordances, signifiers, mapping and feedback. Afterwards, we were tasked to choose one application, preferably a shopping app to study and write a UX Research Report on that app.
After browsing through some applications I decided on JD Sports because that was related to our final project idea, which was to create an application for a shop that sells platform boots. I decided to do further readin on UX Design with the help of the book "The Design of Everyday Things" by Don Norman, the person who invented the term Norman door.

Exercise 2
After finalising our research reports, we were then tasked to create a design audit for the chosen app. Here, I took into consideration all the information I learned from the books, plus my own personal experience with the application to give suggestions on what could be improved about the application.

Exercise 2:
Feedback
- Use all the information you have learned from here when planning your final project.
- Make sure your application has all the affordances, signifiers, mapping and feedback needed to create a good user experience.
- Try to diverge into the world of AR.
Reflection
As I am not a UI/UX student, I didn't have much knowledge on the subject as first. However, with the help of Ms Anis and the book by Don Norman, I was able to grasp the foundations on what is user experience and how should we improve the user experience of our consumers. This can be useful when I am working in the industry, even if my specialisation lies in concept art, because at the end of the day we need to make sure our concepts are giving the best experiences to the viewer.
