Task
After the proposal presentation I started, I focused on making the character silhouettes more memorable and distinctive. I also took the time to redesign the weapons for each character to better reflect their personalities and abilities.
Afterwards, I started working on the base meshes for all the character models, carefully adjusting them to capture their unique features.
The feedback this week was both encouraging and insightful. The skins were noted to look much better than the base models, and I was surprised? But not really HAHA, I had so much more fun making fantasy characters. I was advised to make the Filipino character more glamorous—drawing inspiration from Miss Universe—and to give the Cambodian character a more eccentric, crazy vibe. The pickaxe-gun weapon concept was also approved by Ms Anis.

Reflection
This project has been a challenging but rewarding journey, pushing me to balance creativity with the technical demands of game design. Iterative feedback was crucial in shaping my work, encouraging me to explore cultural influences while ensuring they fit the Overwatch universe. I’ve learned the importance of refining details, from anatomy to weapon designs, and how to incorporate diverse cultural elements into futuristic concepts. Seeing the characters evolve from sketches to polished 3D models has been immensely fulfilling, and I feel more confident in my ability to deliver work that meets professional standards.
