Task

For this task we were asked to:

1. Block out 3 art work based on the images selected without color picking from the chosen photo.
2. To choose 1 final art work that will be polished and final rendered. 
3.  Out put render must be in 16:9 widescreen or portrait size 150 dpi minimum.
4. To submit in .pdf compilation of all the all work and one high res image for 1 Final Render. 

To start off, I went to pexels.com to find photo references for thiks project, keeping in mind that you need to have at least 3 elements in the image, i.e. mountain,, sky, water, etc. Here are some of the samples I found:

Week 2

On week 2, we started doing black and white blockouts of the photo. Afterwards, I redrew the composition with 6 different camera views with perspective.

Week 3

On week 3, I did blockouts for 2 other photo references. Since my 1st reference did not have water elements in them, I decided to choose a lake view as my 2nd reference. For the 3rd photo, I chose the view of an ice berg as I have never drawn that texture before.

Week 4

In the end, I chose the 1st photo to do the final render. I started colour blocking the photo and slowly added the details.

Reflection

This project has allowed me to practice my observational and painting skills, especially when we were not able to use the eyedropper tool. Moreover, I was able to explore different locations and environments that I have never physically been in. With this, I was technically forced to experiment with new styles, brushes, etc to get the textures of the environment right.
