Instructions
Task
Perpesctive Studies
In week 1, we were tasked to:
- Do perspective studies with basic shapes to identify and understand depth and volume.
- Show studies on 1 point, 2-point, 3 point and 4 point perspective by referring and drawing over any chosen image/photo (landscape mainly).
- Use the basic shapes to make rough composition with those perspective breakdowns.
Output:
Value Studies
On Week 2, our tasks were:
- Showcase the understanding of light and shadow (VALUE PAINTING) by repainting a composition based on existing photo which you can use the photo's you collected for project 1.
- You can redraw the composition with 6 different camera views with perspective and block it out with moderate details.
- Do a reflection to state your understanding.
Output:
During week 2 feedback session, Mr Kannan asked me to create 2 more black and white value paintings with 2 different photos.

Week 2:
Perspective Exercises
Perspective exercises helped me learn depth and spatial relationships. By understanding and applying the principles of perspective, I can create the illusion of distance, depth, and scale, making my compositions visually engaging and immersive for viewers.

Composition & Value Studies
Value drawing allows me to effectively depict the three-dimensional form of objects and subjects. By understanding and utilizing different values, I can capture the interplay of light and shadow, highlighting the contours, volume, and texture of the subjects I draw.

Sky Replacement
For this project, I used the YouTube tutorials Mr Kannan gave me. Moreover, I also looked into other videos to see if there was a more efficient way to do it.

Reflection
Perspective Studies
On Week 1, I understood how perspective can help us create realistic and convincing representations of objects and spaces in our designs. This can be done by understanding the principles of depth, scale, and proportion, and how they affect the way we perceive objects and spaces. Moreover, I observed how to use vanishing points, horizon lines, and other important concepts related to perspectives.
Value Studies
Through value studies, I have learned how to use value to create contrast, depth, and focus in my designs. By carefully observing and analyzing the value relationships within a design, I can create a sense of hierarchy and emphasize certain elements over others. Furthermore, I also noticed how a design with too little contrast or too narrow a range of values can feel flat and uninteresting.
Composition Studies
Composition is the foundation of a visually impactful artwork. It involves arranging elements such as lines, shapes, colors, and textures in a deliberate and harmonious manner. By understanding and mastering composition principles, I am able to create artworks that instantly capture the viewer's attention.
