Task Progression

Character Poses

Fig 1.0 Pose Sketches

For the pose sketches, I looked through some references on Pinterest and also skateboarding videos on YouTube. While watching Youtube, I also had some ideas for his ult animation and his skill.

Expressions

Fig 1.1 Expressions

While doiong expression exercises on Anatomy class, I decided to sketch out the expressions my character would make in the game. I added a "headpat" expression because of the relationship Jiho and Lycaon has, where I imagined Lycaon giving him head pats as encouragement when Jiho was sad/ ignored by his biological parents.

Outfit Designs

Fig 1.2 Bedtime Adventures Sketch

For the outfits, I had three genres in mind, the first one being pajamas. Since Jiho is usually seen with his hoverboarder clothes, having a more comfortable setting would make this skin interesting. While creating the outfits, I had "comfort" in mind, hence the looseness of the clothing.

Fig 1.3 Summer Outfit Sketch

The second genre I had in mind was summer outfits. Since Jiho is a hoverboarder, he would also be good at surfing as balance is required in both activities. Besides that, I also found out that rabbit ears should be kept away from water, hence there are protecting ear covers on him.

Fig 1.4 Classroom Prodigy Sketch

For the last genre, I thought of creating a school outfit for him. Being the heir of a big company, the expectations laid on him would be really high. This would be in contrast with his usual wear and it would need to express the more rigid and disciplined side of him. While designing this outfit, I had "posh English prep school" in mind since Jiho's family would definitely send him to the most expensive school in the area with all the money they have.

Weapon Design

Fig 1.5 Weapon Sketches

Since he is a long range character, I decided to turn his hoverboard into a weapon. The story of how Jiho is a class prodigy also suits this weapon as he would be smart enough and have enough resources to modify his hoverboard into something both practical and fun. At first I planned for him to carry his hoverboard and shoot from it, but it was then changed into having "cattos" that shoot instead.

VFX Design

Fig 1.6 VFX Sketches

Jiho was originally planned to be a pure DPS character. However, I changed it to support dps after since he technically is still a child and if he were to do jobs with his association, Victoria Houseekeep Co., Lycaon will definitely not push him to the front and let him risk his life. 4

Skill info:

Normal Attack: Jiho uses his modified hoverboard cattos to shoot enemies at range.

Perk: Jiho uses less stamina when dodgin and sprinting with the help of his hoverboard.

E-Skill:Sends his modified catto to trap enemies. Cattos will remain on site even when Jiho is switched out.  If one bot is sent, Jiho can still no normal attacks with the extra catto. If Jiho sends out two, character swap wil be triggered.

Ultimate: Jiho sends his cattos to create a diamond shaped area that transfers 30% of enemies defences into attack power to characters within the area. Afterwards, he will initiate "Trickshot" Trickshot: Jiho does a flip with his hoverboard, activating the artillery on the base of his hoverboard.

Final Presentation

Feedback

  • Pose 2 is the most dynamic, you can pair it with the "angry" expression's eyes but maybe change the mouth to a smirk or something fun
  • The schoolboy uniform contrasts the most with his main outfit so it would be good to go with that.

Reflection

This task was fun but it was also very tiring. I noticed that my lineart skills require a lot of improvement and it takes me too long to finalise them. Legit had to keep telling myself "PATIENCE" the entire time. The part I enjoyed the most was doing the VFX as it was the most stimulating to my imagination.
