Project 1: Shooting Practise & Editing
Instructions
Task
Exercise 1
After the lecture on differetn camera angles, we we tasked to form groups and shoot videos of our friends to be used in the exercise. This was the first time I shoot videos in the university and I also noted how bad my phone camera is (iPhone8+ T^T).
After the videos were shot, I then compiled them into one video.
Final Output
Exercise 2
For this exercise, we were given footage from our previous seniors. Here, we were taught the shortcuts in Premier pro, e.g I and O. We were also introduced to various transitions like cross fade and dip to black.
For the video compilation, we read the storyboard to understant how its sequence looks like.
Final Output
Exercise 3
This week we were instructed to form into groups of three and create a dance music video together. I paired up with my friends, Alif and Azka to create this video. After some discussions, we decided on the Lotus Flower Bomb x YRN remix for our video.
Here, I was able to apply the knowledge I had from the shooting exercise outside of the univeristy and it was honestly quite fun. After the shooting was done, I compiled them to create the music video. I used some visual effects templates to add stickers onto the video. Besides that, I also noticed a nice footage from out bloopers and decided to add those into the video.
Final Output
Exercise 4
In our last exercise for this section, we had the chance to shoot a trailer video from a Korean Drama. We had a big group with each of us playing a role in the production process. Here, I was the sound recordist along with Jessyln. She was a great teammate and we managed to finish the project without much issues. Although I do pity her for having to carry the microphone everywhere we go T^T.

When the shots were done, I made my way to the MacLab to extact the audios and upload on Google Drive (I also made a second copy on my harddisk in case anything went wrong :p).
Final Outcome
Reflection
The shooting exercises were fun. As a person who learns best when they can pratically do things, I learned so many new things from this experience, especially the last exercise. I would have never thought I could be the sound recordist in my lifetime. I am also grateful that the actors were kind enough to speak louder/ sigh louder/ flip louder etc, when I asked them to. Overall, if I could redo the shooting I definitely will be willing.
